Girl time

Last night I arrived home from Sista's 08 - a Christian women's conference in Auckland... and it was great!

I have hardly ever been away from the kids, so was quite excited about having a wee break and some time to relax, be inspired and encouraged etc. I definatley was!

The highlights:

The food! We didn't have to cook for ourselves for once and were so spoilt with the food at the camp where we stayed (overfed for sure!). We also ate out at "The Bog" and yum it was.

The spoiling from Sista's... we were made to feel very special, from our info packs to our little morning tea boxes, our handbag jewellery and butterfly necklaces, and our butterfly lollipops (which the kids loved when I got home).

The awesome worship, items and bands at the conference - God's presence was there.

The speakers - all amazing and so different. I wept a lot, especially as Marilyn Skinner shared about the work they do in Uganda, giving child prostitutes and child soldiers a second chance at life. The Watoto Children's Choir (which is made up of parentless children) was beautiful.

Being able to spend time with a group of wonderful friends... with heaps of laughs (in this photo we are getting ready for the 'old skool' party).

I also can now say that I have driven to Auckland - and in a van too.

I feel refreshed and inspired... to be the woman God has called me to be, as a wife, mother, in ministry and in my community.

And would you believe that Symon held the fort at home. He did such an amazing job with the kids - and even managed to keep the house tidy and mow the lawns. Now that's my kind of guy - thanks honey!
