The simple things...

By PaisleyJade - Monday, July 14, 2008

Sometimes (particularly today) it is so easy to get busy, stressed and quite overwhelmed with life in general, so busy in fact that we forget to take the time out to enjoy the simple things... to be thankful and just to smile. The best way to do this is to watch and be around small children... so I decided to help little Miss 1 put her gumboots on, and have a walk together outside in the sun.

Everything fascinated her, the trees, the chickens wandering around, the chicken poo on the ground, the tiny daisy flower that she could pick from the grass, the bright yellow lemons on the lemon tree, Daddy riding on the ride-on-lawnmower, her little swing and the warm eggs that Daisy (one of our chickens) is sitting on (2 more weeks to go until the chickens hatch!). It was good to look at life through the eyes of a child again, to enjoy God's creation and the simple things that can bring us so much joy.

Once we got back indoors, Miss 1 somehow managed to get into Mandrakes paint, and pat it all over her face (I think she thought it was face cream)... oh well... it was nice while it lasted!

  2. That's awesome Kristy! It's true, we shouldn't just have faith like a child, but we should never stop looking at the world like a child does, with wonder and excitement. Great blog..and little one's hair is growing so long!
