Granny Bunting

Since I've already owned up to being a total Granny, I have no shame in showing off my pink Granny Bunting (thanks to Crochet with Raymond for the tutorial)!

I love bunting, but have only ever made fabric bunting before (here & here).  This crochet bunting was really fun and quite simple to make.  I can see how it could get addictive... the only thing holding me back from making more was seeing (once again) the colour draining from my husbands face as I held the bunting up in the girls room to ask him for his opinion.

He is seriously sooooooooo out of touch with the current bunting fashion... I hope think *cough cough*

Anyway, the girls think it is fab, I like it, and I'm off now to crochet my husband a little cute chain of Granny Bunting to hang in his car.

  15. Ha! Zan too! He detests bunting with such a passion, because apparently it makes everything feel 'circusy' (and what's wrong with THAT?)

  18. I love all the bunting I've been seeing, but I have refrained from making any because I'm pretty sure my husband would run screaming from the house. I keep trying to think of some way to make a more manly (or at least unisexy) bunting, but I can't seem to make that work. (Haha!) BTW, last summer I SO wanted to crochet a bikini, but I chickened out. (If you use mercerized cotton it doesn't itch.)

Love it! It looks so gorgeous in your beautiful daughter's room! But I absolutely think you need to make another set to stretch right across the window, and then maybe a set for the door too!
Ooh... my darling would die if I put bunting in the car, it made me smile to think about her reaction!!!!!

  22. VERY COOL!! Not 'Granny' at all!!
re: Symon's comment: My mum made some crochet bikinis when she was young but the bottoms were rapidly undone & swept away with the first wave at the beach!!! (this may only encourage him though......) ;D

  23. you make crochet cool :) I LOVE the pink color (I finally have a girl after 3 boys and I'm realizing I REALLY hate baby pink!) But bright pink like that?! AWESOME. Ok. I have a giveaway on my blog today....you might be interested, idk :)

  24. Love it. I have the same problem with my other half. It's amazing how they can go pale at the very sight of something beautifully handmade isn't it? I think if you make him some for his car it may be grounds for divorce though!
Re: Symons comment. My Nanna made me a crochet bikini for my 12th birthday. They really don't work. Wet lacy cotton is just not a good look for bikinis!
