Retro crochet...

By PaisleyJade - Tuesday, March 02, 2010

I was trying to get a bit of a retro look with some of these crochet phone covers by using orange and brown wool... but I'm now wondering if they look more rastafarian than retro?

Would you believe that it took me years to find out that my mother's bridesmaids wore orange dresses at my parents wedding! After all the years of me gazing at her black and white wedding photo's, I never thought to ask what colour the dresses were. Mum was obsessed with orange back then... now she hates it.

Anyway, I'm sure there must be some rastafarian people out there who need covers for their mobile phones... maybe I should make the photo's black and white for the shop so people don't get scared away?

In the shop soon!

  2. The only one that could POSSIBLY be confused with rasta-ness is PERHAPS the Black one, that IS a LITTLE bit reminiscent of dreadlocks. But only because you mentioned it!

  6. I think they look very retro indeed. Mums bridesmaids wore purple, not muted at all, very bright and thy had purple muffs too (before you scoff muffs wrap around your hands... so dont know how to explain them.

  9. I love orange. When I was a teen, I worked in a fabric store. Whenever orange fabrics came in they saved them for me to see before putting them out! Of course, it helps that the Un. of TN's colors are orange and white. One of my grand's Easter dress is orange this year.
My bridesmaids' dresses were a deep purple. This one lady at the reception said, "The only reason I came to your reception was to see what color those dresses were. I thought they were black!" Oh the shame that would have bee. Of course back then black was taboo at weddings. I think orange dresses would have been really cool. I wish I had thought of that.
